Doreamon might be the answer

Reading is one of many things that i may say as important to life.

However, not all mankind realise reading is important especially in remote area that think that fishing and farming skills are what they need and not reading.

I write this journal because I was very impress on how my lecturer wants to make a difference by helping the kids in SK Sepanggar to love the books.

As we all know, that we live in a cycle.
If your father is a farmer you might become a farmer and
if your father is a doctor you might become a doctor.
That's why when we read the behaviourist theory you can see that the environment take roles in people development.
What i am trying to say is there will be no direct solution that can solve this matter.
When I was only 120cm, if we couldn't read or master the multiplication table, hitting was one way of solution.
Even though it is not a proper theory by I can see that this method really is working, "Each cry is one step further make the kids fly"

Fly in this context is the kids can read(fly by they own) after receive a negative stimuli as suggest in behaviourist theory.
but I'm afraid that the kids might help themselves "fly" to death.
NO OFFENCE. BUT HITTING MIGHT CAUSE YOUR KIDS HAVE FEARED OR TRAUMA IN LIFE

Back to the topic, how to change a cycle that the kids do not want to read books.
"Believe in the power of interest", he said.
Have you ever remembered when was the first time you took a book and started reading it?
Try to remember, there is only 1 question that I wanted to ask, "Is there anything that attracted you to read the book?"

Then, for the first cycle, we only need to attract them to love books and not to force them to know how to read.

This is one way of how you can do it:
1)Collect all the comic at your boxes.*(comic have a lots of picture and can help the kids to at least see the picture because a picture speaks a thousand words)
2)Distribute to the kids
3)Ask them to have read it if they like it.

THe purpose of giving them the comic books is kids love picture and cartoon.
Even though they do not know how to read, at least they have the interest to hold books.
YOU WON'T START READING UNLESS YOU HAVE THE INTEREST AND YOU HAVE A BOOK IN YOUR HAND

Even though they might just look at the picture, but it will help them to love books and might start to have the passion to learn to read.

If you notice that I have already mention about the cycle, they might do not want to read because of their parents also never read.

These are two options that you might use to solve this matter :
1)Give the parents newspaper to read(they can just look at the picture and even they do not know how to read, the picture can help them to understand what inside)
2)Give comics to them(the kids will shock why the parents start reading after never seen their parents read then the power of curiosity will do the works).

YOU WON'T BUILD A HOUSE DIRECTLY IN ONE HOUR BUT YOU CAN BUILD THE BASE SO THAT THE HOUSE WILL STAND VERY PROUD AND STRONG.

After a short period maybe 2 or 3 weeks if the kids show their interest, we might level up their reading resource example from DORAEMON to ANAK ANAK SIDEK and do not give them directly to the source of boring KISAH SANG KANCIL that we can see at the library still in a nice plastic cover.
